The reason Witch wood has its name is because on the 5th January 1888, John Talbot Clifton, the squire of Lytham hall’s favourite horse called Witch died in a riding accident through this wood.

This cave was formally known as Loughrigg Quarry, over 200 years ago it was a working quarry and now this hollowed-out cave is purely man-made from a forgotten time.
